Stainless Steel 309S Pipes are a low-carbon variant of SS 309, consisting of 22–24% chromium and 12–15% nickel with up to 0.08% carbon. The lower carbon content improves weldability and minimizes the risk of carbide precipitation when used in high-temperature applications. These pipes have excellent mechanical properties with tensile strength of approximately 550 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of about 40%. SS 309S possesses superior resistance to scaling, corrosion, and oxidation at high temperatures, while structurally remaining intact, and is therefore ideal for pressure and thermal applications.
