Monel Pipes consist of mainly around 63% nickel and 28–34% copper along with trace amounts of iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon. This special composition has superior resistance to corrosion by seawater, acids, and alkalis. Monel has high tensile strength—usually ranging from 70–85 ksi—and a yield strength of about 30–45 ksi, good ductility, and toughness over a very wide temperature range. The alloy resists disintegration when subjected to extreme conditions and can easily be fabricated and welded. All this makes Monel Pipes ideal for long-lasting, high-performance applications under aggressive and high-pressure conditions.
