Super Duplex Steel Tubing consists of nearly 25% chromium, 7% nickel, 3–4% molybdenum, and nitrogen with trace amounts of other alloying components. It is a two-phase material with austenitic and ferritic microstructures, which has excellent mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. The material has high tensile strength of nearly 800 MPa and yield strength of about 550 MPa and is quite resistant to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion. The tubing is also characterized by good fatigue and impact resistance at low temperatures, thus being well suited for applications in high-pressure and chemically aggressive environments.
