Stainless Steel 309 Tubing is an austenitic stainless steel alloy with high nickel (12–15%) and chromium (22–24%) content, intended for high resistance to heat and oxidation. It has a moderate level of carbon (max 0.20%), which gives good strength at high temperatures without losing ductility. This tubing has a minimum tensile strength of 520 MPa and a yield strength of 205 MPa. With good creep resistance and thermal stability, SS 309 tubing retains its mechanical properties in high-temperature service, which makes it well-suited for applications where structural integrity and corrosion resistance are essential.
