Stainless Steel 301 Tubing is an austenitic stainless steel with around 16–18% chromium and 6–8% nickel, having a low carbon level (up to 0.15%). It is particularly noted for being able to acquire high strength when cold worked without losing good ductility. The tubing has a tensile strength of between 520 and in excess of 1030 MPa depending on the temper, and a minimum yield strength of 205 MPa. SS 301 tube also shows superior resistance to atmospheric corrosion and is weldable and formable, a great material to be strong and versatile in tough environments.
