Titanium Gr 7 Tubes consist mainly of commercially pure titanium with an addition of 0.12% to 0.25% palladium, which greatly increases their corrosion resistance, particularly in reducing and acid environments. They have good weldability and formability. The mechanical properties are comparable to Grade 2 titanium, providing tensile strength of about 344 MPa (50,000 psi) and yield strength of about 275 MPa (40,000 psi), with good elongation and ductility up to 20%. This special balance of strength and resistance against corrosion renders Titanium Gr 7 suitable for extremely corrosive industrial use.
