Titanium Gr 12 Pipes are alloyed with trace amounts of molybdenum (0.3%) and nickel (0.8%), which have a substantial impact on their corrosion resistance, especially in reducing and mildly oxidizing conditions. These additions enhance crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking resistance. Titanium Grade 12 has a tensile strength of around 483 MPa (70,000 psi), yield strength of around 345 MPa (50,000 psi), and satisfactory ductility with an elongation of around 18%. The alloy is highly weldable and fabricable and can be used in demanding, high-stress industrial applications that need to be durable over the long term.
