Aluminium Coil Tubing is typically produced from alloys like 3003 or 6061, consisting of primarily aluminum (over 96%) supplemented by elements such as manganese, magnesium, and silicon for strength and corrosion resistance. These tubings have very good mechanical properties, such as tensile strength of between 130 MPa and 310 MPa based on the alloy and temper. They also have good elongation and flexibility, making them suitable for coiled applications. The alloy is non-heat treatable in certain grades such as 3003, although other grades such as 6061 are heat-treatable to enhance strength. The blend provides durability, formability, and long-enduring performance.
