Stainless Steel 904L EFW Pipes contain austenitic stainless steel that contains a high percentage of chromium (19–23%), nickel (23–28%), molybdenum (4–5%), and copper (1–2%) in order to give the material more acid resistance as well as chloride-induced corrosion resistance. Low carbon levels increase the weldability as well as intergranular corrosion risks. These pipes provide very good mechanical properties with tensile strength of about 490 MPa, yield strength of about 220 MPa, and good elongation and impact resistance. The EFW process guarantees consistent weld strength and better surface finish, and so 904L EFW pipes are well suited for high-pressure and high-corrosion industrial uses.
