Stainless Steel 316 and 316L EFW Pipes consist mainly of iron, chromium (16–18%), nickel (10–14%), and molybdenum (2–3%), which provides increased corrosion resistance, particularly against chlorides and acidic environments. The low carbon level in 316L provides better weldability and reduces carbide precipitation. These pipes have superior mechanical properties, such as tensile strength of approximately 515 MPa and yield strength of 205 MPa. They also exhibit high toughness and ductility, even at cryogenic temperatures, and are thus well-suited for demanding applications where strength and resistance to extreme conditions are needed.
