Stainless Steel 316 and 316L Electropolished Pipes are mostly made of iron, supplemented by 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum that adds pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. The primary distinction between 316 and 316L is the lower carbon content of 316L, which enhances weldability and minimizes carbide precipitation. Mechanically, they provide a tensile strength of about 515 MPa and yield strength of about 205 MPa with very good elongation and toughness. The electropolished surface increases surface smoothness, cleanliness, and corrosion resistance, rendering them suitable for sanitary and high-purity applications.
