904L Welded Tubing Stainless Steel is an austenitic stainless steel that has low carbon and a composition of around 19–23% chromium, 23–28% nickel, 4–5% molybdenum, and 1–2% copper. It provides better resistance against corrosive and reducing acids like sulfuric and phosphoric acid due to its composition. On the mechanical front, SS 904L has a tensile strength of approximately 490 MPa, yield strength of 220 MPa, and elongation of 35%. The welded tube has excellent formability and toughness even under harsh conditions. Its low carbon content reduces the precipitation of carbides during welding, which helps improve corrosion resistance and structural integrity in high-pressure use.
