Invar 42 Pipe is an iron-nickel alloy of about 42% nickel and 58% iron and is engineered to have a low and stable coefficient of thermal expansion. Mechanically, Invar 42 provides tensile strength of approximately 485 MPa, yield strength of approximately 275 MPa, and elongation of approximately 30%, offering strength as well as ductility.
